Rita Mcmurry

SHELBY: Rita McMurry, 64, died Sunday, February 26, 2023 at her home. A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of Ruby Waters McMurry of Shelby and the late Bobby McMurry. Rita was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and she enjoyed caring for others. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her sons, Michael Searcy and wife Jessica and Dylan Mauney; sister, Susan McMurry; brother, Randy McMurry, all of Shelby; boyfriend, Rodney Bridges; grandchildren, Taylor Ledbetter, Jason Ledbetter, Amber Cheerek and Jordan Searcy; great-grandchildren, Luca Cheerek and Owen Ledbetter. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday, March 3, 2023 at Bethel Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Tim Sims officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, in the church.
