Robert "Shorty" Blanton

SHELBY: Robert “Shorty” Wayne Blanton, 70, died Thursday, February 25, 2021 at his home. A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Alvin “AB” and Turie Pearson Blanton. Robert retired as a long haul truck driver. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Susie Kale Blanton; second wife, Susie Ragan Blanton; son, Kevin Blanton; brothers, James and Tommy Blanton; and sister, Ruth Conner. He is survived by his step-daughters, Savanna Ragan of Brooklyn, NY and Kayla Ragan of Ponchatoula, LA; sister, Linda Phillips of Boiling Springs; grandchildren, Korey, Hunter and Elizabeth Blanton, Tatum, Piper and Brock Collins; daughter-in-law, Brandie Blanton and fiancé Brandon Collins; and special friend, Omar Shank. Visitation will be held 6-7pm, Thursday, March 4, 2021 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home. A time for reflection will follow at 7pm, in the funeral home chapel. A private family burial will take place in Sunset Cemetery.
