SHELBY- Mr. Robert Stone Carlton Jr., 62, of 109 Perry Street, died Sunday, Oct. 12, 2008 at Hospice at Wendover. A native of Wilmington, he was a son of the late Robert and Theresa Gay Carlton . Mr. Carlton was of the Baptist faith and retired from PPG where he was affectionately known as “killer.” He also proudly served in the Navy.
PRECEDED: In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Earl Raymond Carlton.
SURVIVORS: He is survived by his loving his wife of thirty four years, Peggy Carlton, two sons; Phillip Wayne Carlton and wife Renee of Shelby, and Bradley Wade Carlton of the home, a daughter Michelle Carlton Whitecotton and husband Randy of Shelby, two sisters; Brenda Russell and Lynn Miller both of Wilmington, and three grandchildren; Jonathan Carlton, Mason Carlton, and Ella Whitecotton
VISITATION: Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 14, 2008 from 6-7:30pm at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home and other times at the home.
FUNERAL SERVICE: The service will be held, October 15, 2008 at 2pm at the Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel.
BURIAL: Burial will immediately follow at Cleveland Memorial Park with Military Honors
