Robert "Bob" Collins

October 11, 1941 — March 21, 2019

KINGS MOUNTAIN- Robert “Bob” Collins, 77, died Thursday, March 21, 2019 at White Oak Manor of Kings Mountain. A native of Union Co., SC, he was born to the late William and Ora Dellinger Collins. He was an active member of the Shriner’s, Eastgate Masonic Lodge and the Son’s of Confederate Veterans. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 44 years, Billie Jean Collins; daughter Teresa Jean Collins; sister Ruth Biddix; and brothers Junior, Soloman Andrew “SA”, Gene and Jimmy Collins. He is survived by his sons, William “Billy” Collins of Kings Mountain and Fred Collins and wife Laura of Shelby; sister Mary Collins Strickland and husband Mike of Kings Mountain; brother Clyde Collins of Virginia; grandchildren Jimmy Tesseneer and fiancé Tara, Chris Tesseneer and fiancé Danille, Zachary and Austin Collins; great grandchildren Jillian, Nathan and Liam; and his grand dog Katie. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, March 24, 2019 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home of Kings Mountain. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the home of Mary Strickland. Rev. Brian Clark, officiating. A private family burial will take place at a later date.
