Robert Ray Francis

SHELBY-Mr. Robert “Ray” Francis, 84, of Carolyn Dr., died Sun., Nov. 17, 2013 at his home. A native of Mecklenburg County, he was the son of the late Max Clayton Frances Sr. and Minnie Lee Crowder Francis. He was a member of Central U.M.C. and retired from Southern Bell after 33 years of service.

PRECEDED: In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Max Clayton Francis Jr.; and great-grandson, Kameron Paul Ater.


SURVIVED: He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Iris Falls Francis of the home; two sons, Steve Francis of Scottsdale, AZ, and Paul Francis and wife Johnanna of Shelby; daughter, Helen Moore and husband Greg of Monroe; sister Nancy Moore and husband Gregg of Monroe; six grandchildren, Misti Arter, Stephanie Francis, Bradley Ray Francis, Brian Morris, Daniel Morris, Madeline Francis; and three great-grandchildren, Kaleb Arter, Kaley Arter, and Nova Rae Francis.

SERVICES: Wednesday, 11AM, at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel

VISITATION: The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home, and other times at his home.

BURIAL: Sunset Cemetery
