SHELBY- Mr. Robert Joel Franklin, 40, of 311 Chesterfield Dr., died Wednesday, February 27, 2008. A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Irvin and Ruth Gettys Franklin. He owned Advanced Roofing.
SURVIVORS: He is survived by three sisters, Sissy Blanton and husband, Jimmie of Fallston, Alorie Hunt and husband, Scott, and Kay Bowen and husband, David, all of Grover; three brothers, Dwight Franklin and wife, Lynn, of Sharon, SC, Garry Franklin and wife, Lila, of Waco, and Winton B. Franklin of Patterson Springs; his grandmother, Pearl Gettys of Shelby; and many nieces and nephews.
VISITATION: The family will receive friends immediately following the service at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Alorie and Scott Hunt, 105 McGinnis Dr., Grover.
FUNERAL: A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday March 1, 2008, at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel.
BURIAL: A private family burial will be held at Sunset Cemetery.
