Roger Dale Scott

SHELBY-Roger Dale Scott, 66, died Monday, October 4,2021 at Atrium Health Cleveland. A Native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Harold and Edith Scott. Roger enjoyed fishing and riding his mopeds. He also loved making kids happy by playing Santa Clause. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his great grandson, Ivan. He is survived by his loving wife, Wanda Scott of the home; sons, Justin Haney and wife Jamie of Oklahoma, Brian Scott of Shelby, Gary Terry and wife Teresa of Shelby, and Chris Scott and wife Misty of Georgia; grandchildren, Gage Terry, Gary Terry Jr., Zelly Scott, Jordan Scott, and Hailey Scott; one great grandchild, Grayson; and his cat companion Cotton. Funeral services will be held 2pm, Thursday, October 7, 2021 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home with the Rev. Buster Griffin officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Sunset Cemetery.
