SHELBY- Mr. Ronald Wesley “Dago” Ward, 62, of 4106 Wanda St., died Friday, June 29, 2007 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center. He was a native of Cleveland County, son to the late Wilburn Wesley and Dottie Lou Byars Ward. He was a beloved husband, father and grandfather and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Ward was a heavy equipment operator for M&W Grading in Blacksburg, owned Ward’s Drag Racing, and he loved to fish.

PRECEDED IN DEATH BY: In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Johnny Ward and a sister, Gail White.

SURVIVORS: He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Wanda Ayers Ward of the home; one son, William “Wes” Ward and his girlfriend Shannon Melton of Grover; two daughters, Rebecca “Becky” Ward-Bostic and her husband Jamie of Cliffside, and Lisa Ward-Hill and her husband Aundre of Golden Valley; three sisters, Ruby Hallman and her husband Larry of Cherryville, Amanda “Jane” Francis and her husband Marty of Shelby, and Susie Barnette and her husband Mike of Huntersville and a sister-in-law, Lu Ward of Concord; and three grandchildren, Brittany Dawn Hill, Wesley James Hill and Dottie Lue Bostic.

VISITATION: Today (July 1) from 2-4:00pm at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home, at other times at the home.

FUNERAL: 11:00am, Monday (July 2) in the Chapel of Clay-Barnette Funeral Home.

BURIAL: will follow in Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery.
