SHELBY- Mr. Ronnie Lee Appleman, 52, of 2040 McBrayer Springs Rd., died Frid., Apr. 15, 2011 at his home A native of Durham Cty., he was the son of the late Joe Carpenter and Mary Calloway Yarboro. He was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church and was an avid hunter, fisherman, and gardener. Ronnie was employed in cleaning service at Firestone.
PRECEDED: In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Junior Appleman; sister Ruth Putnam; and special friends Irvin Russ and Josh Carrigan.
SURVIVED: He is survived by his loving wife of 23 years Christine Canipe Appleman of the home; two sons Jeremiah James Appleman of Lattimore and Allen Michael Appleman of Shelby; four sisters Faye Blackmon and husband Robert, Sue Leftwich, Debbie Lancaster and husband Curtis, all of Shelby, and Barbara Brown and husband Terry of Cherrryville; three brothers John Carpenter, Frank Appleman and Ray Carpenter, all of Shelby; a sister-in-law Joy Appleman of Mt. Holly; special friends James and Barbara Camp of Shelby and Tim and Ann Barrett of Cherryville; and his wonderful nurse, Heather Billingsley.
SERVICES: Funeral services will be 3pm Monday at New Prospect Baptist Church
VISITATION: The family will receive friends 90 minutes prior to the service at the church and other times at the home.
CLERGY: Revs. Michael Gantt and Archie Brown
BURIAL: Burial will immediately follow in the church cemetery
