SHELBY- Mr. John Randolph “Ronnie” Grigg, 66, of 710 McSwain Rd., died Tuesday, December 2, 2008 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center. A native of Cleveland County, he was a son of the late Elsie and Laura Ledford Grigg. He was retired from PPG after 40 years of service. He was a member of the Windjammers Motorcycle Club, where he was affectionately known as “The Lizard” and was an honorary member of the Cleveland County Independent Bikers (CCIB).
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Gene Grigg and a sister, Thelma Grigg Kennedy. He is survived by his step-daughter, Hope Martin of Boiling Springs; two nephews, Woody Kennedy and wife, Nancy of Shelby and Terry Grigg of Hickory; and his extended family of Windjammers.
VISITATION: The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Friday, December 5, 2008 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home.
FUNERAL: A memorial service will be held at 8:00 p.m. on Friday, December 5, 2008 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel.
BURIAL: A committal service will be held on Sunday, December 7, 2008. All bikers will assemble and leave the Windjammer’s Clubhouse at 1:00 p.m. to go to Red’s Place in Smyrna, SC.
