SHELBY- Mr. Roy C. “Hotdog” Duncan, 67, of 2004 Robyn Avenue died Saturday, July 4th, 2009 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center. A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Emzy Clay and Gladys Barrett Duncan. Roy served in the U.S. Army. He retired from Azdel Corporation and was an Avid Shelby High School and Dallas Cowboys Fan. He loved to travel, eat seafood, watch cowboy movies, and listen to music. He was a member of Parents without Partners for 15 years.
PRECEDED: In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister Frances Duncan.
SURVIVORS: He is survived by his loving wife Brenda K. Saunders; two daughters Lora Duncan Gold and husband Kevin of Shelby, and Amy Duncan of Maiden; two sisters Carolyn Duncan Rienerth and husband Tom of Onancock, VA and Jeanette Patterson and husband Jack of Shelby; two brothers Jim Duncan and Danny Lee Duncan and wife Pat, all of Shelby.
VISITATION: The family will receive friends 12:30-2 p.m. Monday, July 6th at Bethel Baptist Church and other times at the home.
SERVICE: Services will be held 2 p.m., Monday, July 6th at Bethel Baptist Church.
INTERMENT: Burial will immediately follow in Sunset Cemetery.
