Ruby "Ovella" Berg

SHELBY- Mrs. Ruby Ovella Berg, 94, of Wilmington, formerly of Shelby, died Friday, November 9, 2007 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington. A native of Saline County, Illinois, she was a daughter of the late Nicholas Right and Ida Maybelle Miles Proctor. She retired as a seamstress and was a member of the Greenbriar Bond Boosters 4-H Club of America.

PRECEDED IN DEATH: In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ole Berg, and a daughter, Joyce Hoyle.

SURVIVORS: She is survived by a daughter, Phyllis Berg Utera of Wilmington; a grandson, Marc A. Utera and wife, Kristen of Plymouth, MA; a granddaughter, Nicole Utera Martin and husband, Brad, of Shelby; and four great-grandchildren, Ethan, Teigen, Morgan and Connor.

VISITATION: The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 13, 2007 from 6 until 7:30 p.m. at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home.

FUNERAL: A graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 14, 2007 at Cherryville City Cemetery.
