Ruth Blanton

SHELBY: Ruth Dorothy Davenport Blanton, 85, loving wife and mother passed away at home, Wednesday, December 16, 2020. Born in Pottsville, PA, she was the daughter of late William Walter Davenport and Sarah Jane Ball Davenport. She was preceded in death by husband, Bobby Lee Blanton Sr.; brother, Billy Davenport; sisters, Peggy Jones and Dot Kinmon; son, Charlie Blanton; grandson, Christopher Blanton; and daughter-in-law, Beverly Blanton.
She is survived by sons, Bobby Lee Blanton Jr. and wife Becky of Shelby, Jimmy Blanton of Mooresboro and Billy Blanton and wife Linda of Boiling Springs; daughter, Patsy Clay; daughter-in-law, Charlene, both of Shelby; sister, Sally Cote and husband Will; brothers, Bobby Davenport and wife Judy and Teddy Davenport and wife Margie; six grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She retired from Kemet Electronics, and was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend to her children, and fur baby, Tipper. Services will be held privately. Thank you to Dr. Green and staff for their care over the years. Memorials to Hospice at Carolina Foothills.
