Ruth Canipe

SHELBY-Mrs. Ruth S. Canipe, 97, formerly of Charles Rd., died Wed., Oct. 16, 2013 at White Oak Manor of Shelby. A native of Gaston County, she was the daughter of the late William and Viola Vandyke Sisk. She worked in textiles for many year, later retiring from PPG after 16 ½ years of service. She was a member of Martin Street U.M.C.

PRECEDED: In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Grady Green; second husband, Noah Canipe; and three sisters.

SURVIVED: She is survived by two sons, Larry Green and wife Kathie, and Van Canipe and wife Penny; daughter, Judy Allen, all of Shelby; brother, Kenneth Daniels of Atlanta; six grandchildren, Aleta Worzella and husband Tom of Charlotte, Melia Lutz and husband Patrick of Shelby, Keith Green and wife Crystal of N. Myrtle Beach, Michelle Gadd and husband Roger of Concord, Logan and Taylor Canipe of Shelby; ten great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; special caregivers, Madge Blanton and Lilly Wray; and a special friend, Margaret Rollins.

GRAVESIDE SERVICES: 2PM, Sunday, at Sunset Cemetery

VISITATION: The family will receive friends following the graveside service, at the cemetery
