SHELBY — Mrs. Ruth Yarborough Hamrick, 80, of 2113 Randolph Road, died Sunday, May 3, 2009, at home. She was born on May 23, 1928, to the late Hoyle and Melissa Brooks Yarborough. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to all those from Hospice who cared so lovingly for Ruth in the home, and a special appreciation to Mrs. Josie Massey and Martha Lawton, who also provided loving care for Ruth in the home. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Donald Ralph Hamrick, who died in Vietnam in 1971; a brother, Hoyle Yarborough Jr.; two sisters, Magdeline Wilson and Ethel Edwards; her niece, Patsy Luckadoo; step-mother, Gertie Yarborough; sister-in-law, Marilyn Justice; brother-in-law, Jay Hamrick; and her mother and father-in-law, Gertrude and Ralph Hamrick.
