Ruth Mcswain

SHELBY: Ruth Sweezy McSwain, 92, died Friday, January 8, 2021 at Atrium Health Cleveland. Ruth was a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir. She retired from The Lily Mill. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Hazel McSwain; brothers, Ward and McClellan Sweezy; and sisters, Vernie Lou Philbeck and Brenda Carter. She is survived by her loving daughter, Nancy Thomas of Arvada, CO; sisters, Doris Werling of Shelby and Lois Edwards of Charlotte; and brothers, F.C. Sweezy and wife Joyce and Gerald Sweezy and wife Cornelia, both of Shelby. Funeral services will be held 11am, Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Tom Runyon officiating. A visitation will be held 30 minutes prior to the service, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Cleveland Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Beaver Dam Baptist Church
