Ruth Owens

SHELBY-Ruth Towery Owens, 88, went to be with her Lord, Sun., Jan. 18, 2015, at Kings Mountain Hospice House. A native of Gaston County, she was the daughter of the late Climmie and Lottie Turner Towery. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church, and was a lady who would put others before herself.

PRECEDED: In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur Owens; son, Carroll; daughter, Teresa; and brothers, Bob, A.V., and Fred Towery.

SURVIVED: She is survived by her sons, Mike Owens and wife Brenda, Roger Owens and wife Katherine, all of Earl, Gene Owens and wife Cora of Shelby, Danny Owens and wife Rhonda, and Dean Owens, all of Hickory; daughter, Sherry Date and husband Pat of Shelby; 18 grandchildren; and many great, and great-great grandchildren.

FUNERAL SERVICES: Tuesday, 2:30pm, at Faith Baptist Church

VISITATION: The family will receive friends Tuesday, 1-2:30pm, at the church, and other times at the home of her son, Roger, 2235 S. Post Road, Shelby

BURIAL: Cook Memorial Cemetery at Faith Baptist Church
