SHELBY: Sadie Ledford Deaton, 80, died Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2018, at Hospice at Wendover. A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late Alonzo and Rivie McSwain Ledford. She retired from PPG, and was a member of Ledford Grove Baptist Church. She was an avid lover of cats.

PRECEDED: In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Raymond Deaton; daughter, Rebecca Deaton; brother, Newell Ledford; and sister, Elaine Smith

SURVIVED: She is survived by her son, Randy Deaton of Earl; daughter, Myra Kirkendall and Mark of Shelby; grandchildren, Tiffany Thomlinson, Nick Deaton, Heather Kirkendall Downs, Jessica Kirkendall, and Kandace Smart; great-grandchildren, Matthew, Sarah, Phylis, Trevor, Zoey, Zachary, Austin, and Dixie

FUNERALSERVICES: A memorial service will be held 2pnm, Thursday, Sept. 27, 2018, at Ledford Grove Baptist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, at the church.

OFFICIATING: Rev. Jackie Price will officiate
