Sam Causby

August 9, 1936 — January 10, 2008

SHELBY- Mr. Sam Shank Causby, 71, of 917 Logan St., died Thursday, January 10, 2008 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center. He was a native of Cleveland County, son to the late Ed Ellis and Sally Porter Causby. Mr. Causby was of the Baptist faith and was retired from Esther Mill. He was a NASCAR fan and loved being outdoors.

PRECEDED IN DEATH: In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Nesby Causby and a sister, Florine Causby.

SURVIVORS: Two brothers, Joe Causby and his wife Martha, and Ray Causby, all of Shelby; four sisters, Wanda Lewis and her husband “B.B.”, Gertrude Petty, Margaret Lee, and Sue Henderson, all of Shelby; a number of nieces and nephews; and his special friend and caregiver, Mary Smith.

VISITATION: Saturday (1/12) from 2-3:00pm at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home, and at other times at the home of Wanda and “B.B.” Lewis.

FUNERAL: 3:00pm, Saturday (1/12) in the Chapel of Clay-Barnette Funeral Home.

BURIAL: will follow in Sunset Cemetery.
