Sarah Anne Crawford

SHELBY- Sarah Anne Crawford, 81, died peacefully at her home Friday, August 31, 2018. A native of Cleveland Co., she was born to the late Minor and Zeffa Williams Deaton. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who was a talented homemaker, crafter and artist of oil paintings. She was a long time member of New Hope Baptist Church. She welcomed everyone into her home and had a true servant’s heart.

PRECEDED: In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Jewel Elinburg, Edgar Elinburg, Redford Deaton and Gene Deaton and her sister, Camie White.

SURVIVED: She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Bobby Crawford, of the home; sons Bruce Crawford and Bert Crawford and wife Kathy; daughters Beth Hamrick and Beverly Simpson and husband Robert, all of Shelby; sisters Willie Hawkins of Shelby, Mary Biggerstaff of Gastonia, and Bernice Grizzle of Georgia; grandchildren Brad Hamrick, Bonnie Cook and husband Bryan, Melena Hope and husband Brandon, Kirsten Turner and husband Josh, Jonathan Crawford and wife Amber, Nathan Simpson and wife Anna, Nolan Simpson and wife Caroline and Nick Simpson; great grandchildren Sam, Hennessie, Aimee, Jace, Alyssa, Jackson, Grayson and River; and special Aunt Johnnie Vance

VISITATION: The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

FUNERAL SERVICES: will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at New Hope Baptist Church

OFFICIATING: Rev. Russ Bradley and Rev. Dr. Janice Cooper Chaplain for Hospice of Cleveland County

BURIAL: will follow the service in the church cemetery
