Sharon Willis

SHELBY-Sharon “Sherry” Gardner Willis, 59, died Monday, September 27,2021, at Atrium Health Cleveland. A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late Gerald Sr. and Brenda Gaines Gardner. Sherry was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister who retired from the Cleveland County Register of Deeds office as Deputy Register of Deeds after 30 years of service. She was an outstanding lady who carried herself with dignity and respect. She is survived by her loving husband of over 40 years, Richard Willis of the home; daughter, Ashlee Smith and husband Christopher of Shelby; sisters, Terra Lail of Shelby, and Donna Garitta and husband Salvatore of Lake Lure; brother, Gerald Gardner Jr. of Shelby; granddaughter, Rylee Smith; nieces and nephews, Brandy Guin, Gerald Gardner III, Aaron & Clayton Alexander, Michelle Tischofer, and Shannon Shaw; aunt, Suzanne Mcintyre and husband Terry; and special friend, Kathy Young. Funeral services will be held 2pm, Friday, October 1,2021 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home with the Rev. Bryan Glisson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Sunset Cemetery.
