SHELBY- Mrs. Shelby Jean Payne Davis, 69, of 110 Philbeck St., went to be with The Lord Friday, July 6, 2007 at home. A Native of Cleveland County, she was a daughter of the late Charlie and Onnie Lee Gasaway Payne. Mrs. Davis was retired from the Ester Mill.
PRECEDED IN DEATH BY: In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Baxter Davis.
SURVIVORS: Mrs. Davis is survived by two sons, Hayward Davis and wife, Bonnie and Ronnie Davis and wife, Dona, all of Shelby; a special sister, Shirley Hoppes of Shelby; and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were what made her life so very special. She loved all of her brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews.
VISITATION: The family will receive friends Sunday, July 8, 2007 from 1:30 until 3:00 p.m. at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home and other times at the home of her son and his wife, Ronnie and Dona Davis, 916 Airport Rd., Shelby.
FUNERAL: The funeral will be at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, July 8, 2007 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel.
BURIAL: Burial will follow in Sunset Cemetery.
