Shirley Hurdt Adams

Shirley went home to be with our Lord on June 29, 2024. She was born on May 5, 1933 in Caesar, NC, and she married Quay Adams on December 8, 1951. Shirley worked for Kemet Corporation and retired in 1998. For many years she was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Shelby, NC. She enjoyed fellowship with her family, her church family, and her co-workers, but her life long passion was art in drawing and painting. She studied art and drew or painted likenesses of everyone and everything around her.

Shirley was predeceased by her husband and her daughter, Mary Ann. She is survived by her daughter, Rebecca and son-in-law John Snow, her granddaughter Jennifer (Michael) Amiel, great grandsons Sean and James Amiel, her grandson David Snow and her brothers Ronald (Ella) and Leonard (Ruth) Hurdt.

Visitation will be on July 1, 2024 at 11:00AM with the funeral following at 12:00PM at Faith Baptist Church. Pastors Dr. J. Barry Goodman and Rev. Johnny Owens will be officiating. Burial will follow in Elizabeth Baptist Church in Shelby, NC.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Crossroads Rescue Mission, 206 Mt. Sinai Church Road, Shelby, NC 28152 sponsored by Faith Baptist Church.

Clay-Barnette Funeral Home in Shelby will be serving the Adams Family.
