Shirley Blanton

SHELBY – Mrs. Shirley Mae Hoppes Blanton, 75, of E. Marion St., died Tues., July 30, 2013 at Hospice at Wendover. A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late Celo and Vassey Hamrick Hoppes. She was a member of Zoar Baptist Church, and worked at Lily Mill, Bost Bakery, and later retired from Carolina Mills.

PRECEDED: In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J.L. Blanton

SURVIVED: She is survived by her two sons. Scott Blanton of Shelby, and Chris Blanton of Bostic; two granddaughters, Brittany Blanton Dick and husband Tommy, and Paige Blanton, all of Shelby.

SERVICES: Friday, 11:00AM, at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel

VISITATION: The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home, and other times at the home of her granddaughter, Brittany, 2233 Flint Hill Church Rd., Shelby.
