SHELBY- Mrs. Shirley Head Davis, 75, of 3031 Blacksburg Rd., died Monday, January 24, 2011 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center. A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late Bob Young and Mattie Matilda Davis Head. Shirley retired from Belk Stevens and was a member of New Buffalo Baptist Church.
PRECEDED: In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Don Maynard Davis and sisters, Iver Mae Rippy and Ruth Head.
SURVIVED: She is survived by two sons, Wayne Davis and wife Gay and Erich P. Davis; brother, J.C. Head, all of Shelby; 5 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and special friend Fred Lewis of Shelby.
SERVICES: Services will be held, Thursday, January 27, 2pm, at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel.
VISITATION: The family will receive friends 90 minutes prior to the service.
CLERGY: Rev. Tom Ensley will be officiating.
BURIAL: Burial will immediately follow in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.
