Steven Clay

ELLENBORO-Steven Michael Clay, 47, went to be with his Lord, Monday, May 17, 2021 at Hospice at Wendover. A native of Cleveland County, he is the son of Kathy Weathers Barclift and her husband Ben and Mike Clay and his wife Kay. Steven was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and was employed by Rutherford Heat and Air. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Christy Clay; son, Steven Clay; daughter, Samantha Clay; step-brothers, Dewayne Rayfield, Chuck, Mike and Trip Barclift; and step-sister, Cassandra Rayfield. Graveside services will be held 11am, Friday, May 21, 2021 in Sunset Cemetery, with the Rev. Dr. Tim Sims officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at graveside. Memorials may be made to Bethel Baptist Church, 606 S. Dekalb St., Shelby, NC 28150
