Steven Poston

CHERRYVILLE: Steven Eric Poston, 53, died Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at his home. A native of Mecklenburg County, he is the son of McBride “Mack” Poston of Cherryville and the late Amelia Kiser Poston. Steven worked as a crane operated with Duke Energy. He had a huge family at Lake James, where he was a member of the Moose Lodge. He loved auctions and playing poker, where everyone always enjoyed eating his chili and stuff peppers. He was a family man, and a man who valued his time with family. In addition to his father, he is survived by his loving wife, Lori Thrift Poston of the home; daughter, Emily Bellamy and husband Josh of N. Myrtle Beach, SC; brother, Scott Poston and wife Cassie of Cherryville; grandchildren, Olivia and Wyatt Bellamy; nieces, Amelia and Emery Poston; and many special cousins. A service to celebrate Steven’s life will be held 2pm, Saturday, May 29, 2021 at Pleasant City Church, with the Rev. Bryan Glisson officiating.
