Syble Patterson

SHELBY- Mrs. Syble Sisk Patterson, 85, died Wednesday, June 4, 2008 at White Oak Manor in Shelby. She was a native of Rutherford County, daughter to the late Elbert Alexander and Nettie Sisk Sisk. She was a member of New Bethel Church of Shelby, and retired as a TACC driver. She loved to go shopping and to travel.

PRECEDED IN DEATH: In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James “J.D.” Patterson; her sons, Charlie and Ronnie Patterson; six brothers, Guynell, Curley, Lee, Paul, Earl, and Ireland Sisk.

SURVIVORS: She is survived by: two daughters, Bobbie Gibson of Shelby, and Tammi Dodson and husband Lynn of Wilmington, NC; a sister, Shirley Stinchcomb of Shelby; three grandchildren, Dana Patterson of Lexington, KY, Ryan Dodson and Wesley Dodson of Wilmington; a daughter-in-law, Diane Gibson Patterson of Shelby; eight nephews, Kim, Danny, and Scott Stinchcomb, Mike, Ricky, Gary Wayne, Butch, and Greg Sisk; two nieces, Rachel Sisk McSwain and Vickie Sisk Rudder; and two sister-in-laws; Annie Sisk of Shelby and Gerry Sisk of Greenville, NC.

VISITATION: Friday (6/6), from 6:00 to 7:30 pm at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home, and other times at the home of Shirley Stinchcomb, 700 West Warren St.

FUNERAL: Saturday (6/7), 11:00 am at New Bethel Church of Shelby.

LIE-IN-STATE: 30 mins. prior to the service.

BURIAL: will follow in Sunset Cemetery.

OFFICIATING CLERGY: Rev. Reed Jones and Dr. Don McSwain.
