SHELBY- Mr. Talmadge “T.E.” Marshall, 77, of 3137-A Blue Ridge Drive, died Wednesday, June 20, 2007 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center. A native of Marytown, West Virginia, he was a son of the late William W. and Lily Davis Marshall. Mr. Marshall served in all four branches of the U.S. Armed Forces, and was a veteran of WWII and the Korean Conflict. For his service, he received a signed letter of commendation and a plaque from Secretary of Defense, Donald Rumsfeld. He retired from Carolina Freight as a long distance driver and was a member of the Church of Christ.
PRECEDED IN DEATH BY: In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers and a sister.
SURVIVORS: He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Emogene Whisman Marshall of the home; two sons, David A. Marshall and wife, Judy of Shelby and Joseph E. Marshall and wife, Gina of Laurel Springs, New Jersey; a daughter, Julie M. Burton and husband, Ted of Oaxtepec, Mexico; three grandchildren, Adam Marshall of Charlottesville, VA, “B.J.” Marshall and wife, Elizabeth, of Richmond, VA, and David Marshall, of Laurel Springs, New Jersey; two great grandchildren, Sammy and Luke Marshall; and a sister, Jewell Greer and husband, Ellis, of Jacksonville, NC.
FUNERAL: A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 23, 2007 at the Church of Christ.
