Thelma Davis

SHELBY: Thelma White Davis, 85, died Tuesday, July 4, 2023 at Hospice at Wendover. A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late James and Sallie Mullinax White. Thelma was a faithful member of Landmark Baptist Church and retired from retail sales after many years of service. She was an avid Atlanta Braves fan and her family and faith were most important to her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years, Willard Davis; and brothers, Roy and Ralph White. She is survived by her sons, Rev. Allen Davis and wife Elaine of Kings Mountain, Rev. Harold Davis and wife Margaret of Bolivia, Randy Davis and wife Sheila of Shelby and Danny Davis and wife Jo of Murfreesboro; sisters, Ruth Parker of CA, Joann Lowery and Emma Summitt, both of Shelby; grandchildren, Brandon Davis, Brook Duncan, Bradley Davis, Casie Burchfield, Alissa Pace, Brittany Crider, Katie Jones, Brandie Hamrick and Laura Morris; 19 great grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Margie and Marie White, both of Shelby; and special friends, Patty Hughes and her family. Funeral services will be held 11:30 A.M., Saturday, July 8, 2023 at Landmark Baptist Church with the Revs. Allen Davis and Harold Davis officiating. The family will receive friends 10:00-11:30 A.M., prior to the service, in the sanctuary. Burial will follow in Patterson Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
