Thelma Mcmurry

SHELBY- Thelma Truelove McMurry, 78, of 119 Webb Road, passed away Sunday August, 2, 2015 at Peak Resources of Shelby. A native of Cleveland county, she was the daughter of the late George and Ledna Greene Truelove. She was a member of Ledford Grove Baptist Church.

PRECEDED: In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one son, Timothy McMurry; three sisters, Pearl Poteat, Ruth Barnette, Martha Heavener; three brothers, Hubert, Paul, and Jack Truelove.

SURVIVED: she is survived by one daughter, Karen Taylor and husband James of Boiling Springs; one sister, Evelyn Pennington and husband Rev. Herman of Walhalla, SC; four grandchildren, Joshua Taylor, Wayne Taylor, Amanda Queen and Nicholas Queen; two great grandchildren, Bryson Taylor and Bryleigh Taylor; and her adopted son, Danny Blanton.

SERVICES: A funeral service will be held 3:00 pm Thursday at Ledford Grove Baptist.

VISITATION: The family will receive friends 6-7:30 Wednesday at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home of Shelby.

CLERGY: Rev. Jackie Price and Rev. Herman Pennington will officiate.

BURIAL: Interment will be in the church cemetery.

MEMORIALS: Memorials may be made to her church, Ledford Grove Baptist Church, PO Box 336, Lawndale, NC 28090.
