Thelma Jones Vandyke

SHELBY: Thelma Vandyke, 74, died Tuesday July 23, 2019. A native of Rutherford Co., she was born to the late Birdie and Odessa Wilson. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother but especially loved her dogs. She was a Christian woman who loved the Lord and was a member of Westwood Heights. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers Gene, Luke, Burton and George Jones; sisters Kathleen and Helen Jones and daughter Tammy Vandyke. She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Bill Vandyke, of the home; daughters Kim Beaver and Sabrina Williams and husband Justin, both of Shelby; sister Mae Reece of Concord; brother Blaine Jones of Rutherfordton; grandchildren Terri Clark and husband Sam, Tonya Oliver, Mark Beaver and wife Melania, Abby, Wesley and Alissa Williams; and her fur babies Tiki and Peek-a-Boo. A funeral service will be held Thursday July 25, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Clay-Barnette. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral. Burial will follow at Cleveland Memorial Park. Rev.
