SHELBY- Mr. Theron G. “T.G.” Tolbert, 79, of 2903 Edward St., died Thursday, June 7, 2007 at home. A native of Madison County, Georgia, he was a son of the late William Grady and Mary Elizabeth McElroy Tolbert. He was retired from Tolbert Used Cars and served in the U.S. Army 51st Signal Battalion, serving in the Korean Conflict. Mr. Tolbert was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.
PRECEDED IN DEATH BY: In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Bobbie Jean Moore; a brother, Aubrey Tolbert; and his sister, Mary Lois Edwards.
SURVIVORS: He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Betty Lemons Tolbert of the home; a son, Michael Tolbert and wife, Tracy, of Lawndale; a brother, Joseph Daniel Tolbert of Athens, GA; five grandchildren and their spouses, Thomas Wade Moore and Nikki and Stacie Elizabeth Moore, all of Boiling Springs, Billie Jo Linder of Lattimore, Natalie Elise Tolbert and Brandon Shane Tolbert, both of Lawndale; and a great grandson, Riley Moore of Boiling Springs.
VISITATION: The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Sunday, June 10, 2007, at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home and other times at the home.
FUNERAL: The funeral will be at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, June 10, 2007 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel.
BURIAL: Burial with military honors will follow in Sunset Cemetery.
