KINGS MOUNTAIN-Thomas “Jimmy” Houser, 73, passed away Sunday, Oct. 16, 2016, at his residence. A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Lawson and Lillian Whiteside Houser.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one sister, Alma Deaton; three brothers, Rev. Johnny Houser, Gene and Lester Houser.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Marlene Perry Houser of the home; two sons, Paul Houser and wife Allison, John Michael Houser and wife Cindy all of Kings Mountain; one daughter, Beverly Lovelace and husband Charles of Shelby; one sister, Cornelia Buchanan of Kings Mountain; one brother, Rev. Ervin Houser and wife Pat of N. Myrtle Beach; five grandchildren, Latosha Driscoll and husband Jay, Kee Elswick and wife Katie, Stephanie Maner and husband Joseph, Christian Picklesimer and husband Heath, and Karmen Houser; three great-grandchildren, Vincent Driscoll, Carson Driscoll, Camberleigh Picklesimer; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m., Tuesday, at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home of Kings Mountain.
A funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Wednesday, at Christ Worship Center in Gastonia, officiated by the Rev. Tommy Buchanan and Rev. Tim Barrett
Internment will be at Grover City Cemetery.
