Thurman Kinsey

April 22, 1951 — September 6, 2015

SHELBY- Thurman Henry Kinsey, 64, died Sunday, Sept. 6, 2015, at Carolinas Healthcare-Cleveland. A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Henry and Bertie Moore Kinsey. Thurman was an Army Vietnam Veteran.

SURVIVED: He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Gena Hollifield Kinsey, of the home; son, Matthew Kinsey of Shelby; sisters, Pauline Camp of Mt. Pleasant, NC, Mildred Justice of Shelby, Linda Warren and husband Steve of Raleigh, and Helen Darnell of Shelby; brother, Forrest Kinsey and wife Diane of Thomasville; grandson, Logan Freeman; mother and father-in-law, Derrell and Dot Hollifield, all of Shelby; brother-in-law, Brian Hollifield and wife Lara of Surfside Beach; sisters-in-law, Donna Hollifield and Kammie Weaver and her special friend Jeff Wesson, all of Shelby; and his closest friend, Danny Watson of Lincolnton.

MEMORIAL SERVICE: Services will be held Wednesday, 2p.m., in the Chapel of Clay-Barnette Funeral Home.

VISITATION: The family will receive friends one hour, prior to the service, at the funeral home.

CLERGY: Dr. Robert Rose will officiate
