MOORESBORO: Timmy “Bobby” Self, 41, died Friday, December 27, 2024, at his home. He was the son of Tim and Teresa Self of Blacksburg, SC. Whether you knew Timmy as Bobby, PawPaw, from derbying or CP Metal Crafters you couldn’t help but love him. He had a heart of gold and a caring nature that is rare. If you were part of his family or one of his buddies he loved you unconditionally with his whole heart. He loved his wife, kids, and especially his grandbabies more then life its self. There will forever be a hole in the hearts of all of those that knew him and no derby will ever be the same without his presence, but now “Listen Bobby”. We will all be sad in his passing but will share those stories and laugh till our bellies hurt. He would want us to celebrate the life that he lived and although short was full and wide open till the very end. He is probably smiling really big and glad he doesn’t have to do any more dishes. Until we meet again save us a seat Bobby. He is preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Sonja Vandervort, who he saw as a second mama. In addition to his parents he is survived by his wife, Nichole Self; son, Dalton Cochran; daughters, Makala Cochran and Logan Cochran; brothers, Danny Vandervort and Darwin Dodge; grandbabies, Raegan Biggerstaff, Evie Edwards, Ellie Edwards, and Gage Cochran; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends and buddies. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 29,2024 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home from 4:00PM to 6:00PM. A funeral service will be held at 11:00AM Monday, December 30,2024 at Clay- Barnette Funeral Home with Rev. Keith Dixon officiating. Burial to follow at Flint Hill Baptist Church.
