Tommy Howell

SHELBY: Thomas “Tommy” Howell, 91, died Thursday, October 24, 2024 at Carolina Care in Cherryville. A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Dewey and Edna Lee Howell. Tommy was a jokester to many and he enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and retired as a truck driver. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Scott Gilmore; and brother, Charlie Howell. He is survived by his daughters, Ann Dellinger, Wanda Snyder and Terri Head, all of Shelby; grandchildren, Wendy Queen, Dana Yelton and husband Jamie and Lori Carroll and husband Richard; great grandchildren, Kristen Beaver and husband Andy, Michael Queen, Collen Queen, Brynley Yelton, Vada Carroll, Jacob Head and Paola, and Makenzie Smith; great-great-grandchildren, Tanner Hoyle, Carson Whitworth, Leahvi Beaver, Tennessee Beaver, Misty Sigmon, and River Leigh Smith; and great-great-great-grandchild, Nolan Sigmon; and niece, Debbie Owens. Funeral services will be held 3:00 P.M. Sunday, October 27, 2024 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Tim Sims officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service in Sunset Cemetery.
