VALERIE SHORT
SHELBY-Valerie Holland Short, 89, died at her home Friday, April 6, 2017. A native of Cleveland County, she was born to the late Gifton and Cora Davis Holland.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Clinton Alison Short; sister, Mildred Peck; and brothers, Max and C.O. Holland.
She is survived by her son, Phil Short and wife Judy of Shelby; grandson, Phillip Jason Short of Shelby; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends and family one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, April 10, 2017, in the chapel of Clay-Barnette Funeral Home, officiated by the Rev. Richard Stroup.
Internment will be at Cleveland Memorial Park.
