Verleen Blanton

KINGS MOUNTAIN: Verleen Ross Blanton, 70, died Friday, August 18, 2023 at CaroMont Health in Gastonia. A native of Cleveland County, she is the daughter of Jeanette Anthony Ross of Kings Mountain and the late Garvis Ross. Verleen worked for Fiber Industries for many years, later retiring as a Teacher Assistant at West Elementary. She enjoyed sewing, crafts, painting, reading and traveling with her partner, Bob. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Randy Blanton; and brothers, John and Keith Ross. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her partner, Bob Daugherty of Gastonia; sons, Ian Blanton and girlfriend, Erica Nesbitt of Kings Mountain and Ethan Blanton and partner Madelyn Peterson of Greensboro; sisters, Judy Russ and husband Richard of Kings Mountain and Rachel Clanton and husband Greg of Gastonia; and brother, Joe Ross and wife Ronda of Kings Mountain. A Celebration of Verleen’s life will be held 6:00 P.M. Sunday, August 20, 2023 at the home of her niece, Traci Johnson, 965 Stony Point Road, Kings Mountain.
