SHELBY- Mrs. Verna Navey Wilson, 90, of 700 Dixon St., Shelby, died Sunday, September 3, 2006 at Century Care of Shelby.

FUNERAL: The funeral will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 5, 2006 (today) at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel.

BURIAL: Burial will follow at Sunset Cemetery.

VISITATION: The family will receive friends an hour before the service at the funeral home and other times at the home of her daughter, Poniese Williamson, 1108 Double Springs Church Rd., Shelby.

PERSONAL HISTORY: A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late James Joshua and Sarah Bumgardner Navey. She was retired from the Belmont Mill.

PRECEDED IN DEATH BY: In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Woodrow Wilson, daughters, Sue Greene and Sarah Williamson and grandson, Al Williamson.

SURVIVORS: She is survived by her daughter, Poniese Williamson and husband, Alfred of Shelby; eight grandchildren, Jim Greene, Tim Greene and Kim Averitt, all of Charlotte, Diane Padgett of Shelby, Danette Wesson of Hendersonville, Danyel Phelps of Shelby, and Linda Lawrence and David Williamson, both of Albemarle; twelve great grandchildren, Lindy Wease, Katie Harris, Shannon Averitt, Ashley Greene, Monica Greene, Daniel Wesson, Joseph Wesson, Joshua Wesson, Austin Phelps, Trey Williamson, Charlie Lawrence, Sarah Lawrence; and one great- great grandchild.
