Virginia Addington

BOILING SPRINGS- Virginia Diane Addington, born September 12, 1949 in Washington DC , died suddenly on October 19, 2024 in Shelby, NC, surrounded by her loving family. Diane was the beloved daughter of Richard Lehr Sr. & Virginia Lehr. Diane worked for the Department of Justice for 40 years. She loved her job being able to make a large impact helping victims of crime. She was a member of the Moose Lodge that she loved dearly. When she became Deputy Grand Region she felt so much joy doing this from 1999-2000. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. To know her was to love her. Diane was preceded in death by her father, Richard Lehr Sr. (2017) and her husband, John M. Wells (2008). She was the loving wife of Ernest Addington Sr., loving mother of John E Wells (Christine) & Rebecca Goddard (JL), by marriage the wonderful mother to Ernest Addington Jr. (Billie Jo) & Timothy Addington (Darlene), daughter to Virginia Lehr, sister to Linda Higgs ( Pete ),Richard Lehr Jr. & Cheryl Lehr, the best Nana to Shelbie (Ray) , Vinnie, JP, Abby, Brady, Desi, Tiffani (Zac), Anthony, Cody, Emily (Collins), Robert (Maddie), & Timothy 2nd, and a fantastic great-Nana to Tripp, Leighton, McKenna, Charlotte, Jaxon, Hayden, Liam, Dennis & Tiffany. The family will be having a special memorial service for Diane on Thursday November 21 from 11am-4pm at The Belmont Farm 24079 Budds Creek Rd Clement's, MD 20624.
