Virginia "Mable" Goforth

KINGS MOUNTAIN: Mable Herndon Goforth, 92, died Saturday, January 20, 2018 at White Oak Manor of Kings Mountain. A native of Cleveland Co., she was born to the late Ernest and Rena Bookout Herndon. She was an active member of Resurrection Lutheran Church as well as a member of the Kings Mountain Woman’s Club and the Town & Country Garden Club. She was the former owner of Dixon Chevrolet and worked many years at C&C Scrap Iron & Metal.

PRECEDED: In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Carl Goforth; six brothers; two sisters; and great grandson Brayden Nicholson.

SURVIVED: She is survived by her daughter Joyce Elliott and husband Ralph of Shelby; granddaughter Brooke Nicholson and husband Bam of Cherryville; and great granddaughter Piper Sloan Nicholson.

VISITATION: The family will receive friends immediately after the service.

FUNERAL SERVICES: Will be held Monday, January 22, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Resurrection Lutheran Church.

OFFICIATING: Rev. Mike Varn

BURIAL: A private burial will take place at Grover Cemetery.
