Virginia Hammitt

KINGS MOUNTAIN-“Ginny” and Grandma passed peacefully on April 9, 2015 at the age of 97 years young. The heavenly angels have lifted her to join the love of her life, James Weldon Hammitt. She was also preceded in death by her daughter and son-in-law, Jan and Ray Digdrich, her daughter-in-law, Nancy Hammitt, her granddaughter, Sandra Lee Hammitt, and her five siblings, Marge, Paul, Lucille, Glen, and Dick.
She took great pride in, and is survived by her two sons, Glen Hammitt, Richard Hammitt and wife Patrice. She leaves behind numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, and extended family. She never forgot their birthdays. She exemplified hard work and remained a giver all her life. Family meant the world to her.
From crosswords and cards, to joyful walks and competitive Rummikube, Ginny’s contagious smile, incredible memory, and joy for life remain cherished by her loved ones.
Graveside Services for her will be held Friday April 17, 2015 at Western Reserve Memorial Gardens in Chesterland, Ohio and entrusted to DeJohn Funeral Home, 126 South Street, Chardon, Ohio, 44024.
