Virginia Hamrick

SHELBY- Mrs. Virginia Dover “Ginny” Hamrick, 84, of 2034 Riverhill Drive, passed away Wednesday November 30, 2011 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center. A native of Cherokee County, SC, she was the daughter of the late George Douglas and Cordelia Medley Dover. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church where she was involved in the Senior Saint Ministry, the Nursing Home Ministry, and going out on visitations, she also loved singing in the choir; she truly loved her church. She was retired from PPG.

PRECEDED: In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James “Jim” Hamrick; daughters, Wanda Jean Hamrick and Lavonda Lynn Hamrick; a son-in-law, Vick Rollins; four brothers, Ennis, Luke, JW, Bobby Dover.

SURVIVED: She is survived by two daughters, Diane Rollins of Shelby and Carolyn Parker and husband Lee of Blacksburg, SC; five grandchildren, Pam Turner and husband Chris, Angie Cooper and husband Danny both of Shelby, Amy Brooks and husband Joe of Boiling Springs, Lorieann Byers and husband Scott, and Dana Weaver and husband Chris both of Blacksburg, SC; eight great grandchildren, Cody Turner, CJ Brooks, Mikaela Turner, Adam Brooks, Corrie LeKay Byers, Daniel Ethan Cooper and wife Hailey, Ben Cooper and Drake Byers; two cousins, Jerri Crotts and Wib Clary.

SERVICES: A Funeral Service will be held 3:00 pm Saturday at Faith Baptist Church.

VISITATION: The family will receive friends 1:30 – 3:00 Saturday at Faith Baptist Church and other times at her home.

CLERGY: Dr. J. Barry Goodman, Revs. Johnny Owens, Tim Trexler, and Billy Boone will be officiating.

BURIAL: Burial will immediately follow in Mt. Sinai Baptist Church Cemetery.
