SHELBY-Virginia Sills Johnson, 84, died Tuesday, April 8, 2014, at Cleveland Pines Nursing Center. A native of Gaston County, she was the daughter of the late John and Bertie Torrence Sills. She was a charter member of Chapel Grove Baptist Church in Gastonia.
PRECEDED: In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first and second husbands, Robert Towe and Wayne Johnson Sr.; and brother, Don Sills.
SURVIVED: She is survived by her two sons, Robert Towe and wife Tammy of Gastonia, and Wayne Johnson Jr. and wife Sandra of Boiling Springs; two daughters, Susan Climmer and husband Gary of Lattimore, and Judy Gibson of Shelby; four sisters, Betty Oates and husband Glenn of Gastonia, Barbara Myers of Statesville, Helen Day and husband Tommy of Gaston, and Laura Galloway of Gastonia’ 13 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
SERVICES: Friday, 1:30pm, at Calvary Baptist Church in Shelby
VISITATION: The family will receive friends Friday, 12-1:30pm, at the church
BURIAL: Burial will follow at 3:30pm at Gaston Memorial Park
CLERGY: Revs. Tony Sisk, Rick Bowling, and Wade Wallace
