SHELBY- Mr. Wallace “Wally” Vinesett, 73, of 1642 Maple Springs Church Rd., died Saturday, Oct. 10th 2009, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. A native of Cherokee County, he was the son of the late Coleman and Euzelia Simmons Vinesett. He was a faithful member of Flint Hill Baptist Church where he served in many different capacities. He retired from Ora Mill.
PRECEDED IN DEATH: In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Terri Jane Vinesett, and a brother Jack Simmons.
SURVIVORS: He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Doris Earwood Vinesett of the home; three sons, Bill Vinesett and wife Karen of Kings Mountain, Chris Vinesett and wife Lori of Belwood, and Cliff Vinesett of Shelby; six sisters, Martha Greene and husband Hubert, Maxine Cochran and husband Lem both of Shelby, Beuna Hester of Mooresboro, Pat Ledbetter and husband Tommy, Jane Raduly, and Debbie Anthony and husband Stan, all of Shelby; one brother, Tommy Vinesett and wife Wilma of Shelby; nine grandchildren, Michael Vinesett, Kyerstin Vinesett, Meghan Bjerke, Taylor Vinesett, Emily Jackson, Morgan Vinesett, Makenzi Vinesett, Riley Vinesett, and Leann Leonhardt; and special friends, Larry and Pat Hamrick of Shelby, and Tracey Vinesett of Boiling Springs..
VISITATION: The family will receive friends from 6-7:30 pm, Monday at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home, and other times at the home.
SERVICES: The funeral will be held 2 pm, Tuesday at Flint Hill Baptist Church. The body will be place in the church 30 minutes prior to the service
INTERMENT: Burial will follow in Cleveland Memorial Park
CLERGY: The Rev. Keith Dixon, Dr. Wayne Stacy, and Rev. Steve Taylor will be officiating
