Walter Poole

SHELBY- Walter Poole, 70, died Tuesday, April 21, 2015, at his home. A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Howard and Aileen Willis Poole. Walter served in the Army during the Vietnam War, and was a member of New Bethel Church of Shelby.

PRECEDED: In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Steve Poole; and sister, Joyce Krumnow.

SURVIVED: He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Phyllis Smith Poole, of the home; son, Craig Poole of Shelby; daughter, Angie Poole of Ellenboro; sisters, Rita Barr and husband Bobby of Shelby, and Vickie Bingham and husband Dennis of Fallston; grandson, Tyler Turner of Shelby; brother-in-law, Bobby Smith and wife Joyce of Shelby; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

FUNERAL SERVICES: Thursday, 3p.m., at New Bethel Church of Shelby

VISITATION: The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, at the church.
