Wanda Sherrill

SHELBY-Wanda Weathers Sherrill, 59, passed away Sunday, May 8, 2016, at Carillon Assisted Living. Born in East Hampton, Conn., she was the daughter of the late Ben and Mabel Woods Weathers. Among other things she enjoyed, she loved singing.



In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Frank Sherrill; one brother, Alfred Weathers; one sister, Jean Gosnell; great grandchild, Shealeigh Brooks.



She is survived by one son, Jerry Wellmon and wife Laura; one daughter, Jessica Brooks all of Shelby; two sisters, Marie Lowery and husband Steve of Shelby, Judy Saldo of Grover; five grandchildren, Tevin Brooks, Jay Brooks, Orlando Brooks, Lily Wellmon, Julia Wellmon.



The family will receive friends from 6 until 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, at the funeral home.



A funeral will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home of Shelby, officiated by the Rev. Matthew Storie.
