SHELBY- Mr. James Willard Panther, 77 of 2503 Shoal Creek Road, died Saturday, December 9, 2006 at Hospice at Wendover.
PERSONAL HISTORY: He was a native of Cleveland County and son to the late Archie and Annie Hudson Panther. He was retired from Grover Industries, was of the Baptist faith, and loved horses and the outdoors.
PRECEDED IN DEATH BY: two brothers, Lawrence and Marvin Panther.
SURVIVED BY: One son, Rick Panther and his wife Carolyn of Shelby; one daughter, Deborah Wilson and her husband Clifford of Shelby; three brothers, H.K. Panther and his wife Evelina of Shelby, Clifford Panther and his wife Louise of Grover, and Arthur Wayne Panther and his wife Linda of Blacksburg, SC; two sisters, Priscilla Kendrick and her husband Charles “Buster” of Shelby and Fannie Jane Hawkins of Mooresboro; three grandchildren, Travis Wilson and his wife Meredith of Oxford, NC, Melia Thomas and her husband Will of Newbern, NC, and Miranda Spangler and her husband Blair of Cullowhee, NC; two great-grandchildren, Jake Byron Wilson and Beau Panther Thomas; a number of nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Anitia Christafel.
VISITATION: Monday, (Dec. 11) from 12:30 to 2:00pm at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home.
FUNERAL: 2:00pm in the Chapel of Clay-Barnette Funeral Home.
