SHELBY- Mr. Willard Eugene Davis,75, died Wed., Jan. 12, 2011, at Hospice at Wendover. A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Millard and Josephine Kelley Davis. Willard served in the Army, was a truck driver for Bowman Transportation and was a charter member of Shelby Rescue. He was also a member of Landmark Baptist Church.
PRECEDED: In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by 3 brothers, Clyde, Hazel, and Wilburn Davis; 2 half brothers Hubert and Sonny Robinson; and half sister Catherine Black.
SURVIVED: He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Thelma White Davis of the home; 4 sons, Allen Davis and wife Elaine of Shelby, Harold Davis and wife Margaret of Oakboro, Randy Davis and wife Sheila of Shelby, and Danny Davis and wife Jo of Springfield, MA; 2 brothers Billy Joe Davis and wife Betty of Forest City and Gene Davis of Hickory; 7 granddaughters; 2 grandsons, and 4 great grandchildren.
SERVICES: 2pm, Sunday at Landmark Baptist Church. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service.
VISITATION: The family will receive friends, Saturday, 6-8 pm at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home and other times at the home.

BURIAL: Patterson Springs Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors.
